Disney’s Riviera Resort is a standalone Disney Vacation Club Resort, (like Old Key West and Saratoga Springs). The resort transports guests to the luxurious vacation destinations of the Italian and French Rivieras, with distinctly Disney touches throughout. This resort is the newest of the Disney Vacation Club collection, opening on December 16, 2019.

Disney’s Riviera Resort features 300 DVC villas within one building, with an East and West Tower. One of the resort’s defining features is its access to the Disney Skyliner, which carries guests to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is also known for its beautiful artwork throughout the resort and the Tangled and Peter Pan mosaics at the entrance for its Skyliner station. Guests with an appreciation for Disney history will enjoy seeing vacation photos of Walt and Lillian Disney, as well as Disney items from France and Italy throughout the resort.

Accommodations

Disney’s Riviera Resort offers a wide range of suites and views.

Available Rooms

  • Tower Studios
  • Deluxe Studios
  • One-Bedroom Villas
  • Two-Bedroom Villas
  • Three-Bedroom Villas

The Tower Studios are a first-of-their-kind accommodation among the Disney Vacation Club Resorts. These quaint villas sleep two adults (and an infant), and feature a fold-down Murphy bed in place of the standard queen-sized bed seen in other Deluxe Studios. The living/sleeping space of the Tower Studios are considered quite compact, but the rooms do feature a large bathroom and their own balconies.

Available Views

  • Standard View – View of parking area
  • Preferred View – View of the Skyliner and Disney’s Caribbean Beach

Resort Dining

Disney’s Riviera Resort features the newest character dining experience, as well as a few other great dining establishments.

Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera

Dining at Topolino’s Terrace is considered a must-do for visitors to the Riviera! This dining location features Breakfast a la Art – a character breakfast hosted by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy – with dishes that will appeal to everyone, even picky eaters. Dinner is a signature dining experience, complete with unique dishes inspired by the flavors of the Mediterranean.

Primo Piatto

Primo Piatto is the quick-service dining location at Disney’s Riviera Resort, located on the ground floor. This location serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Bar Riva

This poolside lounge features unique cocktails and a food menu with a few delicious options. We highly recommend the Confit Chicken Wings and the Sangria Blanca (pictured above)!

Le Petit Cafe

Located in the lobby, this dining location serves specialty coffee beverages and unique pastries.

Voyageurs’ Lounge

This seating area, just to the left of Le Petit Cafe, features lots of Dinsey memorabilia from Italy and France.

Amenities

Disney’s Riviera Resort offers a variety of deluxe amenities for guests to enjoy.

S’il Vous Play, the resort’s feature pool has a Fantasia-themed children’s play area and the twisty Tower Water Slide.

Guests looking for a more tranquil pool experience can enjoy the water at Beau Soleil, the resort’s leisure pool.

The expansive lawn behind the resort features several games for visitors to enjoy, including a Bocce Ball court, giant chessboard, and cornhole.

Pros and Cons of Staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort

Pros

  • The biggest positive of staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort is the Skyliner access to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
  • This resort is very centrally-located on Walt Disney World property, just a quick bus ride to Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs.
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort offers great dining options for foodies and picky eaters alike.
  • S’il Vous Play offers a fun and unique pool experience for children.

Cons

  • The Tower Studios are quite small, considering their high cost per night (in points or cash). We recommend these rooms for solo travelers or couples that are only staying at the resort for one or two nights.
  • Summer storms can impact the function of the Skyliner. If the Skyliner is shut down due to inclement weather, guests will have to take buses to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
  • Guests wishing to visit Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs will have to rely on Disney buses. Uber and Lyft are also available.
